WHAT'S ON MY FACE #1

Friday, April 25, 2014

So first things first, apologies for not posting! If I'm totally honest I haven't really got a good excuse, just that I've been a bit busy lately. Please bare with me on this one because I'm very new to this whole 'blogging' business!

That out of the way, on to my first post; 'WHAT'S ON MY FACE #1'. I've been wearing this very simple and natural make up look repeatedly during the past month, so I thought I would put this together; sort of like an everyday make up routine. I'd just like to quickly add that while this make up works for me, it might not work for you. I'm not writing this to tell you how you should wear your make up; it's just how I like to do things.

Firstly, I use my Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer under my eyes and on any annoying spots I have. My Real Techniques Shading Brush is perfect for using to cover up spots. After that, (if I think I need it) I use my foundation. I absolutely love the Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation! I buff it in with my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush to give a really flawless finish.

Base done for now, I move on to eyebrows. My eyebrows are never perfect but Mac Omega eye shadow is a great colour for me and I would definitely recommend it to anyone with light to medium hair. I apply this with my trusty Real Techniques Brow Brush.

Next I do my eye shadow. For this I’ve been using my Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette. I know it’s expensive but it's totally worth it! I start off by using the shade 'WOS' all over the lid as a base. After that I take the light brown shade 'Naked 2' and blend it on the outer half of my eye using the Real Techniques Eye brushes found here: http://www.feelunique.com/p/Real-Techniques-Starter-Kit Next I take the darker brown shade 'Faint' and lightly blend it through the crease. Finally, I use the two lightest shades 'Foxy' and 'Venus' to highlight my brow bone and inner corner. I've never been very good at eyeliner so the Collection Extreme 24hr Felt Tip Liner has been a life saver for me. I just take this across my lash line to add a bit of definition to the eye. To finish off I’ve been using my new Soap & Glory mascara called 'Thick & Fast'. This is definitely for those of you who prefer lengthening mascaras but it’s great if you want to go for a more natural look.

When that’s all done I go back and finish doing my base. I start off by getting rid of any shine with the Collection pressed powder, next I use my blusher from MUA, then highlight with the Rimmel Wake Me Up Instant Radiance Shimmer Touch and lastly add some depth to my face using the Avon Glow Bronzer which is OK but I don’t think I will repurchase it!

Finally for lips I use a bit of the Maybelline Baby Lips to moisturise them before using my Mac lipstick in the shade Angel. I think this is the perfect nude colour for pale skin and although it's a frost formula it doesn’t dry out my lips or leave them flaky; a definite staple in my current everyday make up routine.
